I want to thank the person or persons who decided that Secretary's Day should be changed from "Secretary's Day" to "Administrative Professionals Day". NOT.
I have a great boss. I did work on a voluntary basis for him for 5 years and then this job opened up at my church. As of December 2007, I've had a paying job with him for 4 years. He doesn't micromanage, he's nice, he's too nice actually. But, HE DOES NOT pay attention to things like birthdays, workers holidays, etc. I can't help but do something for bosses day or his birthday, Christmas, etc.
Now, I would have stood at least a very small chance of him noticing or realizing Secretary's Day, but if it's going to be called "Administrative Professionals Day" I can just forget it! Completely! So....
Thanks for NOTHING!

Goofy girl, you are his assistant; are you not? Add it to his calendar!
You could even go out and buy your own gift, wrap it, etc... That is your job as the assistant! You can even place it on his desk for him to give to you on the special day.
