I HAD to start this blog, finally.
A couple weeks before April 15th (IRS tax deadline in U.S.) I drove a few times out to the Hamilton Place Mall area. There is a business out there called "Liberty Tax Service." It was one thing at times to see an inflatable, green Statue of Liberty and maybe a person walking around with a crown on their head, but I had to rethink the whole thing when just a few days before April 15th I saw 2 disturbing things:
1. A person dressed up as a large yellow chicken with a SOL crown on its head
2. A man dressed up as the SOL...and he had a beard.
Yes, I vividly remember these images, which is probably what the tax business wanted. I had already finished my taxes and sent them in. But I thought to myself, if I hadn't finished and needed a tax service, would I choose this place? NOOO. I really don't want to patronize a place to do my important and personal financial business with a yellow chicken wearing a SOL crown. Neither do I want to do business with (and this does show my prejudice against women with full beards or at least goatees) a woman with a beard/goatee.
