So, yesterday around 5pm this young, clean cut guy comes to the door selling security alarm systems. Yadda, yadda....every once in awhile I think to myself, "He left the front fence gate open." I am dog sitting for a little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for a couple weeks. It is so cute.
So we're talking and chewing the fat about neighborhood crime, etc. He finally leaves and I ask the dogs if they are ready to eat!? Then I realize I only have one dog. My dog. I went all through the house calling the missing dog. Finally I realized it MUST have gone out the front door at some point and out through the front gate. I had to wait for the alarm guys to finish installing the system before I could go look for this dog. What a nightmare. I called a friend who posted the lost doggie on the neighborhood internet and also got in her car and started driving around looking for the dog even before I could leave my house because of the "security" people.
Finally found the dog, this little, delicate dog, traveled down 2 and a half blocks, up 1 block and over 2 houses to her own fenced in yard. No one knows how she got in her yard. I think the neighbor next door, who was outside, saw her and let her in her yard.
How embarrassing. How thankful I am that we found her and that she didn't get run over! One of the roads she had to cross is nicknamed by me, "Highway of Death." All I knew I learned from sitcom TV. If I couldn't find her or she was definitely run over, I was going to have to start looking for a dog who looked exactly like this dog to replace it, but of course, as we know with all sitcoms, that never works for very long.
So much for security.

Hey Marylu! Didn't know you had a blog and didn't know you knew I had one! I'm glad someone who knew Linda saw my post. I'd been mulling that one over for a while. Hope all is well.
